Abstract

Specifies the corrections necessary to allow for changes in volume due to differences in temperature between the water in a reference measure and that in the vessel, and to allow for the differences between these temperatures and the reference temperatures, when determining or checking the volume of a vessel.

Scope

This Standard specifies the corrections necessary to allow for changes in volume due to differences in temperature between the water in a reference measure and that in the vessel, and to allow for the differences between these temperatures and the reference temperatures, when determining or checking the volume of a vessel. This Standard does not set out a calibration procedure nor consider the uncertainties in temperature measurement, for which reference should be made to other relevant Standards.
