Scope

This Standard sets out a procedure for the determination of the wet film thickness of a coating from its wet film mass. This method is intended essentially for use in the application of films of specified thickness to test panels. It is only suitable for use with brushing materials known not to contain an appreciable amount of solvent of high volatility.

NOTE:
Because of practical difficulties in weighing to the required degree of accuracy, the method should, in general, only be used when the area of the wet film, i.e. the face area of the test panel, is not less than 0.02 m2.
