Specifies strength and durability requirements for chairs of fixed height and either fixed or swivel bases, in order to provide purchasing authorities, specifiers, users, retailers and manufacturers with a uniform set of performance requirements that can form the basis of selection and evaluation criteria. This Standard is reproduced from ISO 7173:1989 with variations for Australia and New Zealand in an appendix.
