Full Description

Scope

Same as for 325-1986. Following is the abstract for 325-1986: The basic requirements for qualifying Class 1E equipment with interfaces that are to be used in nuclear power generating stations are described. The principles, procedures, and methods of qualification are covered. These qualification requirements, when met, will confirm the adequacy of the equipment design under normal, abnormal, design basis event, post design basis event, and in-service test conditions for the performance of safety functions. The methods are to be used for qualifying equipment, extending qualification, and updating qualification if the equipment is modified.

Purpose

To revise Std 325 to bring it current with today's practice and technology.

Abstract

Revision Standard - Active.Terminology and standard test procedures are established for germanium gamma-ray detectors that are used for the detection and high-resolution spectrometry of gamma rays, X rays, and charged particles that produce hole-electron pairs in the crystal lattice so that these items have the same meaning to both manufacturers and users.
